Breast Aesthetics

Breast Implant is an operation to change the size and contour of the breast part of the person. In the breast augmentation operation, a silicone is inserted into the breast tissue or inside the rib cage through a 4 to 5 cm incision made in the operational part of the person.

The operation to be performed on the person is determined as a result of the examination of the person and may vary according to the anatomical structure. The silicone placed inside is completely safe and does not cause any discomfort. After the breast operation, the person should avoid strenuous exercises such as yoga, swimming, cycling. Breast reduction surgery is seen as a relatively easy operation because the operation is performed in the soft tissue, not the deep tissue. Types of incisions are 4 to 5 cm incisions under the breast, half-moon incisions in the breast areola, and incisions under the armpit. The place where the prosthesis is placed is the breast tissue, submammary tissue and submuscular.

In ancient civilizations, a large breast is considered a symbol of fertility. It is known that after the studies on breast augmentation since ancient civilizations, the first breast augmentation operation was performed in the 1800s. After augmentation studies with many primitive materials such as sebaceous gland, animal fat and cartilage, the first silicone gel breast implant was produced in 1962 and tested on a dog named Esmeralda for the first time.

Breast reduction operation is performed because the breasts are larger than normal or drooping, causing physical or medical discomfort. Breast reduction surgery is an operation that lasts between 2.5 and 4 hours, depending on the size of the breast, due to the reduction of the breasts genetically, as well as the sagging of the breasts after the breastfeeding period and the back and neck pain of the excessively large breasts.

Breast reduction operation is performed by removing breast and skin tissue using reverse T or lollipop incision methods. After the breast reduction operation, the person returns to his/her daily life within 1 week. The incision and suture marks that are visible after the operation, on the other hand, turn into skin color and become obscure after a period of 3 to 4 months.

In the lollipop incision method, the circumference of the nipple is cut circularly and the excess breast and skin tissue is removed. The nipple can be moved up when necessary, in the procedure performed by considering the physical appearance of the person. Then the breast tissue is closed without damaging the milk ducts and the healing process begins.

In the reverse T incision method, the lower part of the breast is cut in an inverted T shape and excess breast tissue is removed. Then the tissue is closed and the healing process of the person begins.

Breast reduction operation was one of the frequently encountered operations in the past. It was seen that it even affected the psychology of the person. Although it is not known where and by whom the first operation was performed, it is known that reduction was made with different operations. At the beginning of the 19th century, surgery began to gain importance and become widespread.
